Dogs are famous for loving and sticking with their human friends. They make strong connections with us that last a long time, and they love us without any conditions. That’s why people all around the world really like dogs. As time goes by, their friendship with us gets even deeper and stronger. They can help us feel better when things are tough and bring happiness to our days. Dogs are truly special and important in our lives.
When you bring a dog into your family by adopting it, you feel sad if anything bad happens to the dog. This is what happened to Carlos Fresco and his dog Monty, who was 10 years old. Carlos and Monty were really close, like best friends and family. Carlos loved Monty a lot. Keep reading to find out more about this touching story.

Seeing Fresco take Monty to places where they had made happy memories was really emotional. They went on hikes, reached mountain tops, and other hikers even joined them to keep Monty company. It was clear that Monty was very happy during these outings.

Monty got sick with leukemia and had medicine called chemotherapy, but the illness came back and made him very sick. Fresco saw that Monty was getting ready to pass away and was hurting a lot. Fresco really loved Monty and wanted to help him have happy days before he passed away.

He chose to bring Monty to their special spots and have fun together. He gently put Monty in a wheelbarrow and pushed him to all the familiar places. Monty sat in the wheelbarrow, behaving really well.

Monty really enjoyed going on hikes. His most loved hike was to the top of a mountain in Wales. Fresco, Monty’s friend, thought that this hike was a special way to remember Monty. Monty was a happy person who made everyone around him happy too.
Sadly, Monty passed away on June 21st, 2021. Many people feel very sad about this. Fresco still thinks about the fun times they had together and feels thankful for their friendship. We hope Monty finds peace.
